Nathan, Marion & I were 30’ from the F18 taking off from the deck. We gained a greater appreciation of the responsibilities of our son in law and all on the ship. Plus a great photo of Marion pulling the cocking lever.

Mick, I don't agree with you regarding ,JFK, as being perceived as weak by the USSR. Also what could the U.S. could have done short of military intervention to stop construction of the Berlin wall? I would think West Germany should have been the entity to intervene.

Gary: I like JFK, it does not mean he did not make mistakes. If you clicked on the hyperlinks it would open an article that supported what I wrote. I specifically referenced a source that would be perceived as friendly to JFK so as to avoid appearing biased.

Mick, I recently watch a documentary on Net Flix about JFK titled JFK Revisited: Through the Looking Glass and in it there is some very interesting and eye opening documentation of the adversarial relationship that JFK had with the CIA, especially Dulles. I am not sure that JFK was being given honest and accurate advice and information about our foreign affairs and most certainly his plans were far different than those that had preceded his administration. I think this may have led to a number of his initial foreign affairs blunders.
