UN International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women Is Anything But
Hamas raped and murdered Jewish women and not a word from the UN, US, and NM leaders.
From the United Nations Website, International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, “We need more investment in women’s organizations, better legislation, prosecution of perpetrators, more services for survivors, and training for law enforcement officials.”
Not one word on the recent murder and rape of Jewish women by Hamas.
From the United Nations Commission on the Status of Women
“The 16 Days campaign will support and amplify commitments to prevent violence against women and catalyze global advocacy efforts including through Generation Equality and the Action Coalition on Gender-Based Violence.”
Silence of young girls orphaned when Hamas brutally murdered their parents.
From the President of the United States
“Eliminating violence against women is an enduring value and goal that we must prioritize in all that we do. Because it is only when women and girls are able to live free from the fear of abuse and violence that they will be able to unleash their full talents. Today, we all stand together to renew our commitments and redouble our efforts to prevent and address gender-based violence and create a culture that refuses to tolerate abuse in any form.”
Biden provides humanitarian aid to Hamas while Hamas holds American women and girls hostage.
From the United States State Department
“On the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, the United States commits to marshaling our full range of policy and diplomatic resources to preventing and responding to gender-based violence around the world.”
The State Department is impotent in freeing young American women from their Humas abusers.
From Secretary of Interior Deb Haaland to the United Nations
Interior Secretary Deb Haaland stated at U.N. Permanent Forum, ‘Indigenous peoples are experiencing a new era unfolding worldwide’ in April of 2023
Deb Haaland is silent on the rape and murder of indigenous Jewish women and girls by Hamas.
From NM Senator Martin Heinrich
March 9, 2022 Senator Heinrich’s press release “By passing a strong, bipartisan reauthorization of the Violence Against Women Act, Congress and President Biden—who was a leader in the original passage of VAWA back in 1994—will once again affirm that all people, regardless of their gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, or ethnic background should have the same right to live free from domestic and sexual violence.”
Martin Heinrich is silent on the rape and murder of Jewish women by Hamas.
Ben Ray Lujan’s 2020 campaign website, “During my time in Congress, I’ve been proud to cast important votes to ban discrimination based on sexual identity, extend the protections of the Violence Against Women Act to LGBTQ+ communities, and protect the rights of Americans to serve openly in our armed forces regardless of their sexual orientation or gender identity.”
It appears that Ben Ray Lujan's promises do not extend to Jewish women.
From NM Governor Michele Lujan Grisham
NM Governor Michele Lujan Grisham abruptly ended the Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Relative Task Force and replaced it with the Missing and Murdered Indigenous Persons Advisory Council.
NM Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham is consistent in her silence on all raped and murdered women, whether it is in New Mexico or in Israel.
Albuquerque City Council and Mayor
“Today on International Day for Elimination of Violence Toward Women, City Councilor Klarissa Peña & City leaders unveil plaza and shade structure at Women’s Memorial Park.”
Not a word on the rape and murder of Jewish women and girls by Hamas.
In high school, the Diary of Ann Frank was required reading. In addition, I read Mila 18, QB VII, and Exodus, which told of the story of Jews who struggled successfully and unsuccessfully against the Nazi in World War II and the birth of Isreal. I watched the movie, “Judgment at Nuremberg” and one of my teachers had a poster on his classroom wall of “First the Came” poem.
First They Came by Pastor Martin Niemoller
First they came for the Communists
And I did not speak out Because I was not a Communist
Then they came for the Socialists
And I did not speak out Because I was not a Socialist
Then they came for the trade unionists
And I did not speak out Because I was not a trade unionist
Then they came for the Jews
And I did not speak out Because I was not a Jew
Then they came for me
And there was no one left
To speak out for me.
At the time, I thought. We now know what to look for so that another holocaust will never happen again. But we missed the signs. We were told: It was just the Ignorant Rednecks who were the problem. Then, the Maga-Republicans were the problem. Then, the Christians were the problem. Then, the outspoken parents were the problem. How did I become such a big problem to those in power? Because I never forgot and spoke up.
Write the President, the New Mexico Congressional Delegation, the Governor, and the Albuquerque Mayor that we expect them to condemn Hamas rape and murder of indigenous Jewish women in Israel. America will not tolerate Hamas and other terrorist organizations' attempt to complete Hitler’s Final Solution,” which is the extinction of the Jewish People.
For the record, I contacted the Anti-Defamation League for a comment regarding the rape and murder of Jewish women and girls but did not receive a reply. They forgot.
Jon Levits was silent when SNL skits made fun of President Ford tripping to help elect Carter. He now says Late Night is too political. He forgot.
Several recently published articles stated that Israel received information on Hamas’s plans, but discounted the information. They forgot.
Let us never forget.
